Platinum Party!

New York City has lots of fun dancing BUT
there's one venue that stands out from all the rest:
its the “PLATINUM” Standard!!!

Erik and Anna Novoa’s Platinum Party is a MAGNIFICENT event with TREMENDOUS west coast swing and hustle music held at Club 412 in Manhattan on the 3rd Friday of each month.

The turnout this weekend was STAGGERING! Everyone was there: they came from New York City, upstate New York, Connecticut and all over New Jersey too!!!

 It might have something to do with the excellent choice of DJ for the party! Erik sure knows how to pick them. He got one of New York City's TOP musicologists - Anthony DeRosa!

The regulars certainly turned out and so did some local "hotshots" (and a few characters).

But there were also the newbies who were carefully and considerately nurtured by Erik.

And then, too, were a few DEAR Faces we haven’t seen much of lately – and have been really missed.

The Party was so HOT that the whole space had to be opened up because the dance floor got way too packed.

The bar was jamming all night long, too! 

There was no standing or sitting room for those occasional breaks –
 not that it was easy to stop moving!!!

Some DJs play just what they want.

Anthony watched what Moved people and played a little vintage R&B - the latest contemporary hits and – interestingly – popular songs from maybe a year or two back that we all loved but got replaced with more current stuff.

You could hear voices Exclaim “oh – I remember that song – I loved that one! I've just got to dance!"

Another other thing about the night was the MOOD!!! Erik and Anna greeted everyone with warmth and endearment and it was apparent they were Genuinely Happy to be our Hosts. People seemed to be Upbeat from the get-go, as well.

Dancers from several social circles in the tri-state area enjoyed spending time with others they don’t see at their usual haunts. The energy in the room was mind-blowing!!!


The dance floor is a pretty decent size for Manhattan - plenty of room to dance and yet - it still retains that "intimate" feeling. There is a full bar with an Excellent bartender! Just the perfect recipe for a BRILLIANT party!!!

Currently, Erik and Anna run a west coast swing crash course before the dance. Personally, I think Anna should teach some of her HOT, Signature styling!

The girl is FIERCE!!!
