ITS ABOUT TIME!!!

Finally, Strictly Friday is Finally happening!!!



The BEST new monthly dance venue is Finally a reality to be held EVERY last Friday of EVERY month!

The first Friday party was a dynamic success – drawing dancers from the tri-state area to Connolly’s in Times Square. Even Tybault Ulrich came all the way from Texas!

And a Strictly Westie, west coast swing party, was the ONLY good reason to brave the 50 mph winds in NYC. It was as cold as a witch’s you-know-what!!!

Michael Diener and Jen Czarkowski must have a lucky Irish Patron Saint. Everything they attempt turns into a pot of gold.

While other venues struggle, their ventures are always an easy success.

It is very difficult to think of anyone who was NOT there!!!

People from the bar downstairs kept coming up to check it out – and were greeted by THE GIGANTIC HUG enveloping from the room!


Those faces LIT UP with MAGICAL smiles as they discovered west coast swing SHANGRI-Laaaaaaa!

Dancing started at 9:30 pm and the floor was PACKED all night!

The very cozy and appealing bar served food and lots of drinks continuously.

People just seemed to connect and bond.

Jen C. was really on her game as DJ. Every song was better than the last and she really seemed to be in tune with the crowd.

It was also nice that the DJ booth was near the bar. We were able to chat with her and feel like she was part of the party!



It was very difficult to sit out a dance. One thing about Strictly Westie that has remained a constant is that these dances always seem to attract leaders.

Michael D. is a leader’s leader.

He inspires guys to come out and dance – some who probably wouldn’t think about it otherwise because he has made it feel more like a sport.

But also, this dance is very sexy. People seem to blossom. Men of all ages and types sometimes become a little more interesting – even if for just a song.

The beat and the rhythm - the tra-la of the melody brings out an almost movie star quality. Sort of a Bobby DeNiro vibe.

Please consider the Intensive Workshops starting Tuesday evening, March 1 at 7:30 pm. This is the best idea anyone has come up with in quite a while. Michael and Jen will video and give individual personal attention. These two are very kind and helpful.




Strictly Westie is becoming a cultural phenomenon!


It is recession resistant, eternally competitive with other dance trends, and always offers a warm atmosphere.

Whether people love the dance - appreciate the music or just enjoy the evening, this environment guarantees a pleasant, comfortable place to hang-out.
