Valentine's Day with Anthony and Rebecca DeRosa!

Mr. and Mrs. DeRosa
IT was a Valentine’s Day like never before!

Anthony and Rebecca DeRosa - our favorite newlyweds - transformed Red Bean Dance Studio into a MAGICAL and ROMANTIC evening get-away!

A large groups of dancers came from all over the tri-state area to revel in this special holiday!

It was such a fun night!!!

Peggy DeRosa and John Prezioso
The lovely Rebecca, herself, cut out MANY, many pink hearts and strung them overhead.

Our amazing hosts lavished a table with spirits and sodas - as if we were guests in their own home!

Anthony’s parents, Peggy and John were on hand to help out. (But, spent lots of time out on the dance floor too!)
Elisha Cohen Monzella dancing with Anthony DeRosa
Anthony is an awesome DJ. Check out his website for the monthly song favorites!

By the way – I’m writing the epitaph to the corny “Cali” mix right here and now! New York City is another country. What goes in other places often won't work here.  We need UNIQUE!  We want FRESH!
Get Ready for the NEW YORK MIX!

Barbara Jackson dancing with Jerry Wang

From now on it will be a lot of west coast swing – except for requests. This will dictate the new format.

Music playlist BY THE PEOPLE and FOR THE PEOPLE. Democracy in action!

Sabrina Paxmann dancing with Brett Nomberg
A few of our favorite stars popped up during the night, too.

Sabrina Paxmann came in from Connecticut.

The leaders were really delighted that she came!

Michael Diener dancing with Yulia Falkovich
Michael Diener and Jen Czarkowski came out and danced with everyone!

Strictly Sunday, held the next night due to a last minute schedule change forced on them by Connolly's (and cancelled Tuesday night's dance), was a smash hit anyway.

EVERYONE turned out! Michael and Jen are just so nice to everyone in the NYC community that they can count on their following no matter what else is going on.

Laurie Goldfarb dancing with Gary Ulaner
This was - in many ways - a typical winter's eve in New York City among the local dance community. The cold is irrelevant because dancers always have a warm place to go.

It might be dreary outside - and spring seems so far away - but the pretty pink hearts and the cheerful welcome by Rebecca and Anthony help make up for it all.

The first "NEW YORK MIX" dance party at Red Bean Dance
Studio will be an outragous St. Patrick's BASH!!!

We're gonna get our party on!!!
