The Strictly Westie Christmas Party
at Connolly’s in Times Square was 

ONE
BIG

GIGANTIC

HUG! 

West coast swing FANS came from all over the tri-state area (and a few came from upstate New York - including Sabrina Paxman on the left) to celebrate the season with very special dance friends. The room was beautifully decorated in an old world style. The atmosphere was laid back and the mood was magical!

Evan Swartz did a spectacular job as DJ. This guy is seriously under-used!!!

He usually DJs at Swing & Salsa the last Saturday of the month at You Should Be Dancing. We SHOULD hear more from this guy – it was virtually impossible to sit out a dance!!! http://www.youshouldbedancing.net/

Our BRILLIANT (and newly engaged) host, Michael Diener ( Jen went home for the holidays) greeted everyone in true Santa Clause Style! DELICIOUS hors d'oeuvres and lots of table space arranged for our chatting pleasure! We don’t usually spend too much time talking at Strictly Westie parties. Its all about QUALITY dancing!!!

The true highlight of the evening, however, was the inaugural visit by new Strictly Westie member: Baby Abigail!!!

Greg and Triffin Morris are starting her life off just right! Music and Dance – and she loved it. No crying. No fidgeting. This little gal fit right in!!!

Jerry Wang is blossoming as a dance teacher. Several beginners mentioned that he has really helped them get off to a good start with this dance. His kind, gentle and personal approach is seriously appreciated.

The party started at 7:30 pm and went quite late.  People kept coming all night long. There was an abundance of red clothing! Everyone was in the Holiday spirit.

It had the feel of hope for a new year - for the world - and for Dancing!!! 



West Coast Swing in NYC suffered for a while.  It dwindled to almost nothing. Dance Manhattan took the view that the dance simply went out of style. CLUELESS!!!  Michael Diener and Jennifer Czarkowski came along and SERIOUSLY proved them wrong!!! 

 It took these two bright lights - and their special friends - no time at all to turn this situation around.  Many of us loved this dance and were delighted to join in again. We just wanted a friendlier environment.
