Social dance is not just popular in America, it is loved in Europe too! Swing, salsa, tango are drawing large crowds. Venues offer lessons and dance clubs bring pros from all over the globe. Many Cubans managed to seek asylum in Spain and established a vibrant salsa scene.
Finding dancing is very easy. When I've traveled abroad, all I had to do was Google around to find out what was going on. The UK has an amazing swing scene. The following link also lists what is going on all over Europe.

In Paris, one of the best dance clubs I have EVER been to is Caveau Huchette. Its a bar in a cave with live swing music. This is a not to be missed place to dance. If you are just visiting Paris put it on your list of sights next to the Eiffel Tower. Even if you don't dance, you can't beat hanging out in this joint.

Argentine Tango is probably the most popular dance in the world. There is no corner of Europe that you will not hear the sound of the bandaleon. I have walked the streets of Granada, Paris and Milan and wandered into little cafes and bars were couples glided across the floor, as if they were in downtown Buenos Aires.

Salsa: Apparently it is legal for Cubans to travel to Spain and plenty have done just that. I met a fellow who went to Spain as part of a gymnastics team and "decided" to stay. By teaching salsa he made a lot of money his way to Rome, where he settled down.

Dancing is the drug of the new millennia! Come on and join the party!
I'm the first here! Great post about dance too much. All I know is about traditional dance on my country. Like Kecak dance :)
